Kenneth Colen, Sidney’s son, grew up in the business and since 1981, has served as President and Developer of all homebuilding operations. As a debt-free company we have the financial stability, and decades of family owned expertise, to deliver on our promise to build quality, energy-efficient homes in well-designed, amenity rich communities for years to come. Our management team has worked together for many years and we remain the oldest, privately owned land developer in the state of Florida.

Founded in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1947 by the late Sidney Colen, our award winning, family-owned building and development company has built many thousands of homes in Florida for people of all ages. In 1975, Colen brought his experience and vision to Ocala with the purchase of Circle Square Ranch, a 13,000 acre working cattle ranch.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
His father was a home builder. Not to the extent of doing large developments, but a home here, there, and his grandfather was a carpenter. So, there is a family lineage of building. He was about controlling every aspect of the development, from the landscaping to the construction, to the types of homes that would be built, to the marketing. That vision was about beauty and about giving people tremendous value for their homes. We started building very affordable villas. They had a lot of street appeal, because every home had a porch and on every porch was a porch swing, a railing and some brick-back molding on top. It was a hometown feel. People responded beautifully to it.
